Working on th Privateer Press Stormblade Lt. now. Its about 70% done i guess, trying to play with OSL lighting for th power sword thingy and shading for th metal armor. Cloaks still a mess, but overall its a nice change of pace. Th sculpt obviously isnt as fine as th Rackham or Corvus Belli ones, but its a nice mini anyways. Still got abit to go before th mini is finished.

Dang, shoulda updated this damn thing ages ago. Gathering Australian dust here...well, schl's done for th week, just 2 days a week, but enough to keep me busy for th rest of th days till th next week starts. Good n bad eh? XD

Anyways, here's th one of th latest mini's I've been working on, from Corvus Belli's Infinity lineup, Hac Tao. Some kinda manga cyber trooper thing. Lovely sculpt and pose as well, it was a nice mini to paint. It's about 35mm tall, and done up in Vallejo n Andrea acrylics. Not as fine as I would have liked th paintjob to have been, but I guess I still have loads to improve. Base isnt done yet, but I dont have any materials on hand here to work on it yet. So'll probly get to it back in Sg.

260408 - Paintballs

Paintball today folks~! And an indoor field at that. Dint really manage to take much shots of th place, cos its was all hurried along as it was. Well, first impressions, Melbourne Indoor Paintball, as th damn name suggests, is bloody indoors. Pretty different atmosphere as compared to th outdoor fields I've tried back home. Rather more claustrophobic and EVERYONE seems to hide in th back of their respective field areas. And bloody hell, theres paint smears EVERYWHERE! I mean, my friend in Canada told me abt th indoor places there, n th slick slimy environment of an indoor field, but ...eww. Obstacles consist of wooden packing crates, and more wooden bits., as well as those inflatable obstacles tt u usually see in th tournament matches. It was an interesting change of pace i guess.

As for th gear, phew, i have to say, get ur own masks if possible! using rather beat up V Force face masks with th neck protector...Th jersey's we were supplied with have been there for, well, probly since they set up shop, and are worn with age n goodness noes wat other shit. Using th same Tippman model 98 custom for th markers. S'a nice gun to use anyhow, but more beat up n less well taken care of than th counterparts in Sg. First time i was issue with a belt for storing hoppers. (Still, 300 rounds go up mighty fast!)

Shooters Gearing up.

Anyhow, it was nice to see tt everyone mostly enjoyed themselves, but damn if im organizing another game in th near future. Bloody hassle n all. Till th next shoot out...

Another bunch of random going-ons in Melbie. Finally cooked something in my place th other day, Clare's Aglio Olio Spaghetti recipe. Simple enough to make, but damn if it isnt yummy to eat! Anyhow, There's this PRC girl on th 11th floor here, who damn well doesnt look like one! (In th sense tt shes HOT dammit) Daym, anyways, more on tt some other time.

Eh Sunday is usually a day when stuff goes on outside th State Library down Swanston street, be it dumbass protesters or some small event. Most recently, they had some small fair cum exhibition abt medieval stuff as you can see. Knights n medieval countrymen. Peasants n barbarians. Interesting to walk around and look-see. I guess this is their local cosplay event eh?

Strike up the band

"I do say Cogsworth, would you like to hold my long shaft?"

Select choice of er, medieval delicacies and eats n treats. Live flies not included.

And finally we have our brave and gallant knight in not so shiny armor, battling th Evil and villainous forces of young children with stick who try to aim for his nether regions. Apparently, its a small interactive side show where kids can try to 'spar' with th knight. Simple job? Not when u have intelligent kids who realize hitting just th shield isnt all tt fun. "Aim for his nuts!" "Hit his head!" "Go for his legs!" And these are small kids calling out. I'd be worried for my Knightly Nuts if i was him.

Our doughty Warrior spars with a small, but ferocious beast in shorts.

As the battle wears on, the small blue beast in shorts is dispatched valiantly. But behold! Another masked marauder in red approaches! Nacchooooo!

Finally, overcome with fatigue and weariness, bodies strewn about th battlefield, our hero is forced to his knees by a final blow from his persistent adversary.

(Rather sporting of him to let th lil girl give him a couple of taps on his head actually. Could've been worse. :] )

What with all th protests and crazy gobbledygook ravings against China about th 08 Olympics, th China community (note, China, not ChinESE) here in Melbourne decided to they had to protest about something as well. I'm not saying that anything about th political ramifications and what they're trying to achieve from th protest, but I'll be honest in saying tt personally, i find protests unless they're for a good cause, a gathering of mindless people to disrupt th daily pattern of other people's lives.

Mounted police milling abt n trying to get these idiots off th streets so th cars and trams can move again.

Outside th state library, waving their flags proudly...with some guys raving only goodness knows what.

I believe tt they were protesting abt claims of Tibet being part of china, since one of th banners read: ' Tiber was, and always will be a part of China' Well, balls to that. Whatever. Most of th PRC folk here are rather brainwashed into really believing everything abt they're govt n wont listen to other points of view from outsiders. But hey, tts politicians for ya. Screw em.

On a different note, i found something familiar, in Red and White gently flowing with th morning breeze outside a church along Swanston Street.

On a lighter note, theres this print shop near my place with these witty posters tt they paste up over their shop now n then...haha, check it out:

Feng shui man n his yin yang padlock. lol

Attention grabbing no?

Nuff said.

Another day in th land of th Diggers and PRC chicks. School, home school, home...rather drab actually. Short of th other distractions arnd th city, theres not much else to see short of going outside into th 'burbs. But no set o wheels to do so anyways. Paintball on th 26th i hope~ Aussie style!

Just some random pics arnd Melbie...

Some interesing sculptures outside th art gallery opposite my place here.

Fuckin-A! Th dang internets here be so slow, 256k might b faster. zzz...

An imaginary book on th shelves in Melbourne Aus, folks~! At Minotaur, off Bourke St to b precise...

Royal Arcade...picture kinda says it..duh. Lovely ol architecture too.

Fucked if i know what Walls were thinking when they slapped th name on this ice cream...

Bloody windy day today...supposed wind speeds of up to 70+km/h. Perfect weather for flying: just tie urself onto a bedsheet and jump off a 10 storey building.

No, its not Aussie national day...mounted police outside my place. This was taken several days ago, with some protest going on outside th library. "We protest for Nothing! We protest for Nothing!"

Supposed to have posted up stuff ages ago, since i've been here for pretty much 2 months plus now...just too damn lazy~ Meh Its been well, interesting so far. Melb's a nice place n all, all sortsa ppl, but i'll b willing to bet tt theres more PRC folk here than anyone. Hell, my floor is 60% PRC girls, and since my chinanese is pretty much balls up, communication with them isnt one of my better aspects.

Well, apparently theres a local aussie modelling competi
tion in Springvale out east of melb sometime in June, so perhaps i might try my hand in a submission or two if i can manage to qork out a proper finished piece. Something to look forward to i guess!

First figure i worked on since coming here, Brom Hardbark from Enigma minis. Fantastic sculpt
and detail. Now if i can only finish it up and make a decent base.

Gonna try to post up more pics n schtuff when i can make myself come back to this area of the internet...
